Nikon launches exclusive DSLR Zone in Mumbai

- Strengthening its commitment towards photography lovers in India-


Mumbai, April 15th, 2009: Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of the imaging industry leader - Nikon Corporation,launched an exclusive Nikon professional DSLR camera zone for the consumers Photoguide 267, DR. D.N. Road Kumud House, Ground Floor, Fort Mumbai-400001 The store was inaugurated by Mr. Hidehiko Tanaka , Managing Director ,Nikon India .

As part of its aggressive expansion plans in India, Nikon launches its exclusive DSLR  zone where the entire range of DSLR cameras, NIKKOR lenses and an elaborate  COOLPIX range of  compact cameras would be on display. Going forward Nikon aims to open similar outlets in other Metros across India.

At the Nikon’s exclusive zone, consumers, both professional and amateurs get to touch, feel and experience the Digital SLR Cameras with combination of lenses and other accessories providing expert guidance, technical know how all under one roof. Most importantly, Mumbai photography lovers can now obtain first hand information on entire range of products and make an informed choice. Nikon exclusive DSLR zone is an attempt to provide customers with an interactive and informative shopping experience

Presently, Nikon is targeting 800 retail outlets for instore branding along with the plans to hire 200 in store promoters in the current financial year to further improve the buying experience.

Nikon has achieved more than 30% share in the DSLR cameras segments and 5% in the Compact camera segment in India, which is way above the target set for the year.
