Donates bus for Deepalaya School in Gusbethi
New Delhi, Jan 21, 2015: Having enjoyed an incredible performance in 2014 with leading market shares in D-SLR and compact camera segment respectively, Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation Tokyo, leaders in imaging technology ushers in the new year with a new business process for sustainable development of the society.
In line with the mission of promoting photography culture in India not just as a hobby but a career, Nikon chose to partner with Deepalaya Foundation, a certified non - government organization that believes in enabling self-reliance and is committed to working on issues affecting the urban and rural poor, with a special focus on women and children.
In the first phase of this endeavor, Nikon is donating a school bus exclusively for the school children who are generally deprived of attending school due to lack of safe & sure means of transport.
At the occasion, Mr. Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India Pvt. Ltd. said, “It is recognized that integrating social, environmental and ethical responsibilities into the governance of businesses ensures long term success, competitiveness and sustainability, and we aim at achieving the same by acting as a good corporate citizen.
