Notice to users of the EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery

Thank you for choosing Nikon for your photography needs.

As announced on 24 April 2012, Nikon initiated a voluntary recall of some EN-EL15 rechargeable li-ion batteries as a precaution. Since that announcement, we have received reports from the market of batteries overheating and causing exterior casings to be deformed. After looking into the matter, we have confirmed that such incidents occurred with batteries included in the voluntary recall. Therefore, we again ask users of EN-EL15 batteries to read the following and check their own batteries to see whether or not they are included in the voluntary recall. If you find that your battery is included in the recall, please request a replacement battery from our website, or contact the dedicated support line for assistance.
